All local BBQ

The All Local BBQ is being held on Saturday August 5th. We are partnering with Growing Chefs this year to offer a delicious lunch! Your choice of burger( bison, beet, lamb), corn on the cob, veggie kebabs and dessert are on the menu. All menu items are sourced locally and support the farmers at our market. Tickets will be sold for $10 at the BBQ from 11-1. All proceeds from the BBQ will be donated to Growing Chefs London! Growing Chefs works in our community and offers programs for children and their families to learn how to prepare healthy, seasonal meals, as well as learn the importance of cooking as a family. The All Local BBQ is a tradition at the Covent Garden Market to celebrate Food Day Canada! Celebrate local with us this Saturday at the BBQ.

Food Day Canada:

Food Day Canada is a celebration of local and all things Canadian. It is a chance for Canadians to show their communities about Canadian food. The organizers invite everyone to throw a Food Day Canada party and share their love of local! The All Local BBQ is our way of celebrating Food Day Canada. Read more about it here

Harris Flower Farm

Janis and Mark, along with their three young children operate their farm just north of St. Thomas. Since 2010 they have been going top market with their fresh cut flowers! Janis and Mark both grew up on farms and are hoping to instill the farm life and values to their children. Their children love helping pick the flowers and participating in arrangements. Their farm has about three acres planted in flowers and every year the variety and acreage is increasing. Come by the market on Saturdays to pick up gorgeous , local arrangements from Harris Flower Farm!

Library Program

Join us each Saturday from 1030-11 for family storytime!  Look for the colourful mats and join in for stories, songs, and rhymes with the children’s Library Staff!

Photo Contest

Calling all amateur photographers! This year we are holding a photo contest for the cover of our annual market calendar. The calendar is our way of sharing our love of local food with the community and the photo contest is a way for you to be a part of it! The complete rules and regulations can be found HERE! The winning photographer will have their photo featured as the cover of the calendar, as well they will receive a prize of cash and market gift certificates.

Food Bank Donations

Every Saturday we collect fresh food donations for the London Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off in the bushel baskets under the clock tower. Any donation is appreciated!

Food and Nutrition Table

Stop by the Nutrition Resource Table and pick up some helpful pamphlets or chat with nutrition students! Every Saturday from 9:00AM till 11:00AM, outside under the clock tower, there will be a table set up with various hand out created by Nutrition and Dietetics undergraduate university students. These resources vary from planting your own garden, meal planning on a budget, shopping tips for various diets, to even Nutrition Myths – Busted!
